Loraine Pearson

A little about the founder ……

“Bee-coming, HOPE” was established by me, Loraine Pearson. I am a member of BACP meaning you are assured of I am working with an ethical code of practice as a qualified counsellor. My work is underpinned by two approaches in counselling, psychodynamic and person centred. I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider and Meditation Practitioner.
I began my journey into counselling after facing some challenges after the bereavement of my Dad and the living loss of a long-term relationship. I become stuck in my grief for both relationships.

After seeking counselling, myself I saw first-hand what a difference working with a qualified counsellor could make. I was inspired, this fired a passion for mental well-being within and I knew I wanted to help others. I worked in my job supporting the well-being of my work colleagues and friends when I first qualified as a mental health first aider, but soon realised that my path was much wider and so I began my transition in to counselling.

When I am counselling, I have a feeling of being at home, feeling like it's meant to be. I am currently studying another counselling qualification in “Integrative Counselling” which will allow me to continue my learning journey and personal growth. This enables me to offer a wider range of counselling interventions.” I have a passion for well-being and it is at the heart of everything I do. I am also currently completing my trainee hours as a clinical supervisor, which means I will be able to support other counsellors work through their own caseloads and practice dilemmas and concerns.

I currently work at a local NHS cancer support unit and I volunteer my counselling services to patients with cancer, cancer survivors and their families.

Three days a week I support students at a local sixth form college and provide counselling support 1-2-1 and with groups, to enable them to be the best they can be and deal with the academic pressures, family concerns or general life challenges that they face, so they are able to thrive at the college and beyond.
